Overall opinion

Good for simple daily tasks. The processor is not that great. The design and build quality are good. For browsing social media and phone calls, chatting, browsing internet, etc..., the phone is a good fit in this price range.

Are you planning to buy Redmi 10A? Here is a full detailed review of Redmi 10A. After reading this article you will know whether to buy this phone or not. I bought this phone recently and have used it for some time. In this article, I will share my experience of using it.

Redmi 10A best budget smartphone

Overall opinion

Before we dive into each spec and review it, here is my overall honest opinion about this phone. You can read this and decide whether to read the rest.

Overall, the phone has only a few upgrades here and there compared to the previous version, Redmi 9A. This phone has a micro USB port and not a USB C port. So that is a con. More pros and cons are mentioned at the end of the article.

Even though the phone has some perks, it is the best you can get for ₹8,499. The processor is average and it has a massive battery. The typical battery capacity in most flagship phones is 3500mAh. Redmi 10A has a battery capacity of 5000 mAh. That definitely a reason to buy this phone.

For this price range, the phone is great. But if you want a phone which performs well in processor intensive tasks, gaming, and taking selfies, I recommend going little above this price range.

Design and Display

The display is pretty good for a budget phone. It comes with a 16.58 cm IPS display with 720×1600 resolution. It has a smooth display and a 60hz refresh rate. The LCD panel is pretty bright and did not have any issues while used outdoors. The color reproduction is also good. The display specs totally match the price tag.

Redmi 10A design and display

The phone comes in three color variants. Graphite grey, sea blue and means green. The build material is plastic and the size of the phone perfectly fits in hand. You can easily use the phone in one hand because of its compact form factor and curved edges.

The dimension of the phone is 164.9 x 77.1 x 9 mm and it weighs around 194g.

Camera

As mentioned in the specs chart, the phone has a dual camera setup, 13MP rear main camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Under suitable lighting, the 13MP rear camera is able to take good photos with sharp and neutral colors but the photos still lack saturation. Indoors, the photos do not look as good since there is only low light. For capturing portrait photos, Redmi 10A is a great budget phone. The background and edge detection are good.

The front camera is 5MP. It is not as good as the rear camera. The selfies don’t look sharp and exposure is not consistent. Front video recording supports 1080p ,1920×1080 at 30fps, 720p 1280×720 at 30fps

Processor

Now getting into the processor it has a MediaTek Helio G25 Octa-core (4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.5 GHz Cortex-A53) processor. There is not much upgrade in the processor from the previous version Redmi 9A. I felt lag in doing elementary tasks like swiping down the quick access panel. After the update, there was not that much problem.

You can play light games on this phone but you won’t get a good experience. While playing games like free fire, you might feel lag sometimes. Overall the processor seems to be ok.

Memory

The phone has two variants with different memory configurations. One is 3GB RAM 32GB internal memory and the other is 4GB RAM 64GB internal memory. Also, it has a 1GB RAM booster.

The previous version Redmi 9A came with 2GB and 3GB ram variants. Now it’s providing 4GB ram. So that is a little upgrade.

Battery & Charging

It has a massive battery of 5000mAh. The battery will last for two days. No need to worry about the battery running out. For day-to-day tasks, it won’t drain that much. Battery charge won’t be a problem for this phone. It will be ready to go whenever you need it.

Redmi 10A comes with a 10W charger in the box. It takes about 2 hours and 37 minutes to completely fully charge the phone with the fast charger. The charging port is a micro USB port.

Other features

For security and authentication, there is a fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock. The fingerprint sensor is pretty fast.

In the connectivity section, it supports Dual sim and a micro SD. Also, it supports 4G LTE. It has Bluetooth 5.0 and supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

For navigation, the phone has GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou.

Redmi 10A ports and connectivity

The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack. Also, it has Vibration Motor, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, and Accelerometer. The operating system is MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11.

Final thoughts (should you buy it ?)

The phone is good in this price range but it has got only fewer upgrades from its previous version of smartphone. As I said above, the processor sometimes struggles a little bit. If you want a phone that is good for gaming, I wouldn’t recommend buying this phone. There are other smartphones that excel in it in this price range or maybe a little above this price range. If you are not a heavy user and want a phone to take some pictures, video call, chat, browse social media and call, etc.. and other day-to-day tasks, the phone would be a perfect fit. I have shared a table of pros and cons below which will help you to decide whether to buy Redmi10A or not.

So that’s all about it. This is my review after using the phone for a while. Share your thoughts in the comments. Subscribe to our email newsletter to receive more tech tips, updates, and content like this. Follow us on social media to stay tuned with us.
